Outgoing Student Mobility
Il Programma d’azione comunitaria nel campo dell’apprendimento permanente, ERASMUS+, è stato istituito con decisione del Parlamento europeo e del Consiglio il 15 novembre 2006 (vedi GU L327), e riunisce al suo interno tutte le iniziative di cooperazione europea nell’ambito dell’istruzione e della formazione dal 2007.
Il suo obiettivo generale è contribuire, attraverso l’apprendimento permanente, allo sviluppo della Comunità quale società avanzata basata sulla conoscenza, con uno sviluppo economico sostenibile, nuovi e migliori posti di lavoro e una maggiore coesione sociale, garantendo nel contempo una valida tutela dell’ambiente per le generazioni future (Strategia di Lisbona).
In particolare si propone di promuovere, all’interno della Comunità, gli scambi, la cooperazione e la mobilità tra i sistemi d’istruzione e formazione in modo che essi diventino un punto di riferimento di qualità a livello mondiale.
È dal 2000 che l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania partecipa al progetto Erasmus.
È in possesso della Carta ECHE, rilasciata dalla Commissione europea, valevole fino al 2027, che dà il diritto a partecipare al programma Erasmus, nonché a presentare domanda di finanziamento per le attività decentralizzate e centralizzate che sono:
- mobilità di studenti a fini di studio (Student Mobility)
- mobilità di studenti a fini di tirocinio (Student Placement)
- mobilità di docenti per attività didattica (Teaching Staff Mobility)
- mobilità di personale docente e non docente per formazione (Staff Training)
Destinatari
Possono richiedere la borsa di mobilità Erasmus:
- gli studenti regolarmente iscritti al Triennio
- gli studenti iscritti al Biennio specialistico
- gli studenti disabili regolarmente iscritti che riceveranno un apposito contributo
- i docenti
Periodo di studi all’estero
Il periodo di studi presso l’Università ospitante è previsto per una durata minima di tre mesi e massima di dodici.
Gli studenti possono:
- frequentare corsi e sostenere i relativi esami
- compiere ricerche finalizzate alla stesura della tesi di laurea
- svolgere un tirocinio all’estero
Student Mobility for Placement
Il Programma Settoriale Erasmus permette agli studenti degli Istituti di istruzione superiore titolari di “ECHE“ di accedere a tirocini presso imprese, centri di formazione e di ricerca (escluse istituzioni europee o organizzazioni che gestiscono programmi europei) presenti in uno dei Paesi partecipanti al Programma.
Lo studente Erasmus, che può ricevere per il periodo di tirocinio un contributo comunitario ad hoc, ha l’opportunità di acquisire competenze specifiche ed una migliore comprensione della cultura socioeconomica del Paese ospitante, con il supporto di corsi di preparazione o di aggiornamento nella lingua del Paese di accoglienza (o nella lingua di lavoro), con il fine ultimo di favorire la mobilità di giovani lavoratori in tutta Europa.
Prima della partenza ogni studente Erasmus deve essere in possesso di un programma di lavoro (Training Agreement) sottoscritto dal beneficiario, dall’Istituto di istruzione superiore di appartenenza e dall’organismo di accoglienza. Il periodo del tirocinio deve essere coperto da un contratto di tirocinio sottoscritto dal beneficiario e dall’Istituto di istruzione superiore o consorzio di partenza.
Per gli studenti Erasmus disabili sono previsti contributi specifici.
Informazioni Teacher and Staff Mobility
Erasmus promuove la mobilità internazionale per attività didattica e di formazione non solo dei docenti, ma anche del personale amministrativo degli Istituti di Istruzione Superiore eleggibili e del personale di impresa.
Questo tipo di mobilità (attraverso seminari, corsi, affiancamento, ecc.) mira al trasferimento di competenze, all’acquisizione di capacità pratiche e all’apprendimento di buone prassi da parte dei beneficiari.
Prerequisito per l’assegnazione di ogni contributo è la presentazione di un piano di lavoro concordato tra l’Istituto di appartenenza e l’Istituto e/o impresa di accoglienza.
Durata:
Min 1 settimana (5 gg. lavorativi)
Max 6 settimane
Contributo comunitario:
Contributo alle spese di viaggio, vitto e alloggio fino ad un max di 900 euro.

Tesi all’Estero
È possibile fare una mobilità presso una delle Istituzioni con le quali l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania ha un Accordo Bilaterale con l’intento di svolgere ricerche per la propria tesi di laurea.
Ciò accade solitamente quando lo studente frequenta l’ultimo anno del triennio o del biennio e ha già sostenuto tutti gli esami del suo piano di studi.
È anche possibile svolgere una mobilità facendo ricerche per la tesi e sostenendo esami contemporaneamente.
Incoming Students
Admission
The procedures of acceptance for incoming students are managed and administrated by the Erasmus Office of the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania and are planned depending on the bilateral agreements, according to the rules and deadlines of the Erasmus plan. The Erasmus students acknowledged to attend a period of studies in our Academy are duty-free.
Students, who want to submit their candidature, have to send, by their home institutions and erasmus coordinators, the Application form together with a student’s portfolio and a motivation letter . If they are accepted to study to our Institution they have to send the Learning agreement.
Step One: Contact your home university’s International Relations Officer
If you are interested in studying and living at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania and you wish to spend a semester or two as an exchange student, firstly you should contact the Erasmus Coordinator or International Relations Officer at your home institution. If there is a bilateral agreement under the Erasmus Programme signed between your home university and Academy of Fine Arts in Catania and you are chosen as an exchange student, get in touch with our International Relations Officer . The sooner the better.
Step Two: Send application documents
We advise all Erasmus exchange students to print out and fill in the following documents (available on-line):

Step Three: Wait for your Letter of Acceptance
You will receive an official Letter of Acceptance and will be provided with all other relevant information.
Step Four: The big day – your arrival in Catania
It is absolutely essential that you inform the International Relations Officer in advance about your exact arrival time in Catania. On your day of arrival you have to go to Erasmus office in Via del Bosco 34/a at Barriera site and register.
You will be required to submit the following documents:
• your home country ID card or passport
• 2 passport photos
The Staff will provide you with further instructions on how to get a Student Identification Card, access to the University Library, dining halls and computer rooms.
Step Five: Finalise your choice of courses
After your arrival in Catania and registration, you will have to finalise your choice of courses so that they correspond to your background, needs and interests. You will also need to draw up your own timetable, however you will be given a helping hand by the student representatives and departamental coordinators.

And return them stamped and signed– together with confirmation by the Erasmus Coordinator at your home institution by post mail to our address: erasmus@abacatania.it

Other informations
In Catania, the cost of the life is middly inferior in comparison to other Italian cities as Milan or Rome.
Numerous lodgings in sharing or in individual lease reserved to students are available, with prices that oscillate among 150 euro / month for a place bed to 500 euro for a whole apartment in lease. In Catania there are youth hostels and numerous economic hotels. A meal coasts a minimum of 8-10 euro in many places that offer fixed prices menù, up to 40 euro and further in the best restaurants. Academy of Fine Arts in Catania is not endowed with particular infrastructures as campus, lodgings for the students or cafeterias.
However the students of the Academy, inclusive naturally Erasmus students, can profit however of all the services and the facilitations offered by the ERSU Catania, the Regional corporate body for the Right of the University Study and they have the right to require: the refectory card to consume low cost meals in the university cafeterias and the settled structures; cultural activities subscriptions and theatrical programs with facilitated prices; services of orientation; didactic services and special (if available) courses.
